Things I hear at work

All day long I hear people say the strangest things at work.  Someone will ask another how they are doing or maybe how their day is going.  The answers sometimes astound me.  One of my coworkers likes to tell people she likes it when its busy because it makes the day go by faster.  Why on earth would you want your day, your finite amount of time to go by faster?  Sometimes people skip over answering the question completely.  Like they already know the person asking really doesn’t care so why answer.  My “go-to” response is usually “Hangin in there” when someone asks how I’m doing.  Starting tomorrow I am no longer going to say that.  Starting tomorrow I am going to smile and say “Great, and thank you for asking”.  I think it will help me with my mood which in turn may help someone else have a better day.  Let’s give er a try, shall we?

Working in customer service for all of my career……now my job title being “customer service professional” or “CSP”, I discovered several years ago that having your response to being asked, “how are you?” by saying; I’m GREAT! , and how about you? Goes a long way! Not only with customers but also to co-workers, upper management, basically everyone in general. That is pretty much my response all the time now, not just at work but to everyone.
I have found that it not only makes other people feel good about you, it makes YOU feel good about YOU! If you say I’m GREAT! to everyone who asks, you really truly feel GREAT, no matter what else you may have going on, or what mood you may have woken up with. It truly changes the whole ballgame. Give it a try……you can’t ALWAYS have a full glass so at least keep it half full as opposed to half empty!
I am GREAT! How about you? 😆❤
